As winter sets in and the weather grows cooler, it’s time to reflect on the beauty of the year gone by and the vibrant memories of summer. With Maria’s Farm closed for the season, we embrace the slower pace and the peacefulness winter brings. It’s a time to gather with loved ones, appreciate the cycles of nature, and look forward to what’s to come.
Our farm has transformed into a winter wonderland, adorned with hundreds of lights, festive decorations, and a glowing Christmas tree. Before planning the excitement of 2025, we take a moment to celebrate all that we accomplished in 2024.
This year, our hardworking bees thrived among 2,000 lavender plants, producing our signature lavender honey. The soothing scent of lavender, combined with the buzzing harmony of our bees, was a magical experience for all. Our chickens, fed with organic, non-GMO lavender-infused feed, provided delicious eggs that many of you enjoyed. Thank you for supporting us and for your patience when supply couldn’t always meet demand.
Our country store was open from May through December, offering an array of lavender products: honey, soaps, candles, teas, coffees, syrups, jams, sachets, bath salts, scrubs, and new creations like lavender olive oil, room sprays, and essential oils. Your support for local businesses means the world to us.
The transition from autumn to winter brought clarity, comfort, and a renewed connection to holistic living. Winter is a season to pause, reflect, and set foundations for the future. It’s a time for simplicity, nourishing meals, cozy moments with hot tea, and the companionship of a good book.
In 2024, we celebrated milestones and made memories that will last a lifetime:
Welcoming new bees in March.
Participating in the Tea Festival in Chicago in April.
Raising 80 new chicks and planting 700 additional lavender plants in May.
Hosting Goat Yoga and Tea Time events, creating unforgettable experiences.
Holding our cherished Cancer Survivor event.
Harvesting lavender to craft syrups with mulberries and elderberries.
Attending community events like Marengo, the PNA Christmas Market, Holiday Housewalk, and Polish Christmas Carols.
Treasuring visits from our grandchildren during the summer and Thanksgiving, building priceless family memories.
Looking Ahead to 2025
We are excited for the new opportunities that 2025 will bring! With plans for more bees, lavender, chickens, and a new Airbnb and wedding venue, we aim to create even more memorable experiences.
